Fox Orders Marvel Drama "The Gifted" To Series

Marvel’s new series The Gifted will bring X-Men powers and family drama to Fox this fall.

The Gifted will focus on a seemingly-ordinary family whose lives are turned upside down when their two children manifest mutant powers. Forced on the run, Fox says, the family connects with an underground society of mutants “and must fight to survive.”

The Gifted was one of the most buzzed-about Fox pilots this year.
The action-adventure drama, which features characters from the X-Men comic book franchise, comes from 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel TV. With its pickup and Gotham looking likely to come back for another season, Fox would become a rare platform to feature Marvel and DC series co-existing alongside each other.

Marvel’s The Gifted will be written and produced by Matt Nix (Burn Notice) and directed by X-Men franchise director Bryan Singer. Jeph Loeb, Simon Kinberg, and Lauren Shuler Donner are among the well-titled executive producers.

The new family drama will star Person of Interest and Whedon-alum Amy Acker, Stephen Moyer (Shots Fired), Sean Teale (Reign), and Gotham’s Jamie Chung. Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White round out the cast.
